Le Comptoir de Mathilde – Shopping 1, Genk
Le Comptoir de Mathilde is a French chocolate and fine food brand known for its artisanal approach. In February 2026 it opened its first shop in Limburg, in the Shopping 1 centre in Genk. Retail Projects carried out the interior fit-out. The choice of materials and the rhythm of the space support the brand’s heritage and the story behind its products, while the layout also has to work in practice for customers and staff. The build was coordinated around the logistical pace of a busy shopping centre, which made for a smooth opening.
The photograph shows the shopfront, festively dressed with balloon arches and a red carpet. Inside, crate-style timber display units, a barrel, open wall shelving full of products and a timber ceiling with black spotlight tracks can be seen. Lettering above the windows refers to delicacies and chocolate.
