In May 2026, the very first La Patate opened in Antwerp. The new fries concept was set up with Rob Van Impe and entrepreneurial partners, with ambitions that reach well beyond a single location. The idea is to translate authentic Belgian frituur culture into a modern, scalable hospitality format with a strong identity, efficient operations and an unmistakable atmosphere.

Retail Projects delivered the complete interior build, to a design by studio boîte. On opening day, there were queues at the door. The photograph shows three men inside the shop, two of them wearing Retail Projects T-shirts and one in a La Patate uniform. In the background, digital screens with messages about Belgian fries hang on a light wall.
